Great Canal Journey

GREAT CANAL JOURNEYS came in June to film on our beautiful canal complete with the amazing star couple Timothy West and Prunella Scales.

Their love for canals and support towards the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny canals trust and the restoration project of our waterways shone through both on and off camera. We are all waiting eagerly to watch the next series of them enjoying our beloved canals and its history.

Great Canal Journeys is a Channel 4 television series in which husband and wife Timothy West and Prunella Scales take canal barge trips in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Rock the Lock!!!

ROCK THE LOCK brought talented musicians together for a festival fundraiser to the Fourteen locks canal centre. Nine performers from the Newport music scene performed to hundreds of vistors on Fathers day this year. Money was raised for the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust, the team behind the canal centre and the restoration project.

Organiser Andy May, guitarist and vocalist from the band Broken Karma and Manager of the centre, Kate Wickens got the idea after Andy and band member Ben were here practising. The Image is courtesy of Jeff Wright, who helped massively on the day including the cafe, staff and volunteers.
