Start time: 9.30am from the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre. This walk is free but NCC have now started charging in the car park. It is £1 - 4 hours, £3 - 5 hours and £5 All day. There is parking in the streets surrounding the centre (do so at your own risk) or please car share where can.

End Time: Depending on 6.5 miles or 13 miles. Between 3hr and 6 hrs

The Route: Along the canal towpath towards Newport. Joining cycle route 88 we will head along the Usk River towards Caerleon. This walk is mainly flat but can be muddy in area's. We will walk past the amphitheatre in Caerleon before finishing off in the Hanbury arms. You are welcome to purchase lunch and drinks here but sandwiches cannot be eaten on the premises, there are many beautiful areas we can stop for pack lunches along the way.
N.B You have the choice to walk back for 13 miles in total or you can catch a bus back to Newport and then onto then centre. You are welcome to leave the group at this point but must accept the risks and be responsible for your own actions.

Grading; Medium. Good walking shoes/boots, extra clothing and waterproofs.
Food/Drinks: Please bring along food, snacks, water and any medicaition you need.
The walk leader(s) should be informed at the beginning of the walk about any medical conditions.
