Join us for an incredible tour at Fourteen Locks this Good Friday. Listen to the history and the stories of the glorious canal age. Learn about pioneering engineers and hard working navvies without whom the canal would never had existed. Understand the vital role our canals have played with canal historian Phil Hughes.

The walk will start at 10.30am from lock 21 outside the centre and continue to lock 8, below the motorway bridge. The towpath is tarmacked so asscessible for all but please be aware it is steep when coming back up. The distance there and back is just under a mile. If the weather is extremely bad the talk will be held in our meeting room.

At 11.30am we will break for teas coffees and questions until 12pm

At 12pm a slide show on the history of the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal will take place in our meeting room for 1 hour. Signed copies of The Mon and Brec guide book, written by Phil Huges, will be available to purchase on the day.

The cost of this event is £2.50 per person. Booking is essential due to limited spaces available. Tea, coffee and biscuits are including in the price. You can book by popping in, phoning us on 01633892167 or email - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
